I was really excited when Jane of Jane's Fabrics and Quilts invited me to take part in the 'For the Love of Hand Embroidery' blog hop. Just a quick note to let you know my son-in-law is progressing well. All those prayers and good wishes are really working. He is supposed to get out of hospital sometime this week, but then the hard work will begin. Thanks for all the good wishes.

The new textile magazine, 'Kindred Spirits' from L Green & J.I Kellaway in the Apple App store is on special offer for 99c (Australian). The first issue's theme is 'A Walk in the Garden' and is full of beautiful photography, lots of tempting projects, hints and tips and even an interactive video. Projects to make include an embroidered purse, a folded fabric brooch, a pincushion, crochet hair slides and a felt heart hanger. This is a beautiful magazine to look at, and there is such a variety of different things - embroidery and crochet stitches how-to, ideas on where to buy items, decorating ideas - I could go on, but why don't you go and see for yourself.
